The eight Heart of Iowa Activities Conference schools will be in Jefferson for the league’s coed cross-country meet on the Greene County middle school grounds in Jefferson today hosted by Greene County. The course will cover much of the school property and each race will end on the Linduska Field track.
On the boys’ side, Greene County has finished in second place in 2021 and ’22 with the Nevada Cubs winning the title both of those years, and Nevada is the boys’ favorite again this year. The Rams are led by junior Noah Hinote, a 2022 State Meet qualifier.
The Greene County girls will be in the field as well, but they don’t have enough runners to qualify for a team score.
There will be middle school and high school races for girls and boys with the first race is set to begin at 4:15 p.m.
