A Jefferson man was arrested on a warrant for an alleged December 2023 incident.

According to court documents, a search warrant was executed on December 15th at a home in the 200 block of East Perry Street in Jefferson. Law enforcement recovered several drug-related items from 50-year-old Phillip Amos’ bedroom and he admitted to distributing methamphetamine. The items were submitted to the Criminalistics Laboratory and on March 27th, results were positive for methamphetamine.

An arrest warrant was then issued on March 29th charging Amos with a Class C Felony for intent to deliver methamphetamine of more than five grams, a Class D Felony for failure to affix drug tax stamp, an aggravated misdemeanor for keeping premises or vehicle for controlled substance violation, two serious misdemeanors for unlawful possession of prescription drugs and his first offense for possession of methamphetamine, and a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Amos was arrested on April 12th. He was booked into the Greene County Jail and his $19,000 bond was removed and Amos was released from jail into the supervision of the Iowa Department of Corrections. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
