
Perry volleyball took the court six times on Saturday in the SCC Early Bird Tourney in Rockwell City. This was the first game action for the Jayettes, who ultimately dropped all six matches.
Perry fell in two sets to Audubon (21-13, 21-14), South Central Calhoun (21-15, 21-15), Spencer (21-9, 21-13), and Mason NW Webster (21-11, 21-11). The Jayettes went three sets with Pocahontas (17-21, 21-16, 15-6) and South Hamilton (17-21, 21-7, 15-2), but ultimately lost both matches.
Charity Parnell led the club in both kills and aces. The senior finished the day with 19 kills and six aces. Karagyn Whelchel had a team high 27 assists while Sheyanne Culp had 11 digs.
The Jayettes open the season 0-6.
Perry returns to action tonight in Jefferson against Greene County as Heart of Iowa Competition begins at 6:30P.
