The Perry High School Drama Department is ready for the fall play with opening night tonight.
Director Randy Peterson announces that Perry is premiering the show “She Kills Monsters: Young Adventurers Edition,” which follows the story of two sisters, but one is tragically killed, then the other discovers more about her sibling through finding a Dungeons and Dragons adventure. Senior Seth Borgeson portrays Chuck Biggs, who is the Dungeon Master, and reveals the fun aspect of playing his character.
“For starters, I have to wear a fat suit. Also, when I actually do act, I sort of try to put on a false confidence that compensates for the fact that I’m kind of an uncool nerd character, but as the show goes on, my character mellows out and becomes real almost.”
Peterson explains that he tries to give students a variety of shows throughout their high school career, with this one specifically being a more modern performance. He adds that this show features lots of fighting choreography, which has been a blast to incorporate into the story.
Peterson mentions that tickets can be purchased at the door, with $8 for adults and $6 for children or students. He concludes the showtimes will be tonight and tomorrow night at 7pm from the Perry Performing Arts Center.
