Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, who partners with the Waukee School District for swimming and diving, will feature a few athletes at the state meet after winning the regional competition for swimming.

The Warriors were named the Regional Champions at their site in Marshalltown over the weekend, with ADM senior Emma Popp advancing to the state meet. Popp was a regular season qualifier in the 100 Yard Backstroke, posting a time of 59.81 seconds. At the regional meet, she also helped her team secure spots in the 400 Yard Freestyle and the 200 Yard Medley Relay, both coming in first place. Popp also qualified to state in the 100 Yard Backstroke and 200 Yard Individual Medley.

Tiger junior Finlee Burns was also apart of the 200 Yard Medley Relay and 200 Yard Freestyle Relay that qualified for state, plus is going individually in the 50 Yard Freestyle and in the 100 Yard Fly. For Thursday’s diving regionals, ADM senior Eliza Schmidt was able to advance to state with her final score of 400.45, which was eighth overall.

Popp, Burns, and Schmidt will all compete at the state meet, taking place Thursday and Friday at the University of Iowa’s Recreation and Wellness Center in Iowa City.
