The Perry High School swimmers traveled to Ames for regional competition on Saturday placing 6th in the team competition with 164 points.  The Jayettes advanced two individuals to state competition later this week in Iowa City.  Aleah Karolus advanced to state in the 50 and 100m freestyle while Ellie Hughes qualified for state in the 100 breaststroke.  Hughes stepped up in the season’s biggest meet clocking a personal best time in the event with 1:12.73, dropping .73 seconds off her previous mark.  Perry’s entire results are posted below.  Karolus and Hughes will represent Perry this Thursday at the 2025 Iowa High School State Swimming Championships at the University of Iowa Campus Recreation and Wellness Center in Iowa City.
