The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union wrapped up its two day State Diving and Swimming Championships yesterday at the U. of Iowa facility in Iowa City. Greene County High School freshman Ava Hinote swam at State in two relays for Carroll High under an athletic sharing agreement.

The 200 yard freestyle relay entered the competition with the 24th fastest qualifying time and the 400 freestyle relay entered with the 29th fastest time. Thirty-two relays qualified for the State Meet and the relays Hinote was in did not exceed their seeding places, but saw time improvements.

Hinote swam the second leg in the 200 free relay that placed 25th in 1:44.95 and led off the 400 freestyle relay that was timed in 3:56.61, good for 30th place.
