Finlee Burns/Raccoon Valley Radio Shi-Quan Nettingham

Adel-DeSoto-Minburn junior Finlee Burns and senior Emma Popp helped partner school Waukee achieve 10th place at the state swimming meet in Iowa City on Thursday and Friday.

Burns participated in the 100 Yard Butterfly, capturing 16th place with a time of 1 minute and 1 second. She was also apart of the 200 Yard Medley Relay that came in 10th at 1:52.48, and the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay that tallied 10th at 1:40.61 seconds. Popp was in the 200 Yard Medley Relay that finished 10th, and then nabbed 17th place in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:44.60 seconds.

On Thursday, ADM senior Eliza Schmidt competed in the diving competition, where she marked 8th place overall with a final score of 392.95 in the 11-dive category.
