The AC/GC Chargers boys basketball team will be starting their season with their first practice on Monday.

The team is getting ready for an entirely new season, with only one returning starter from last year after the other four graduated. Senior Joe Crawford will be a shoe in for one of the starting positions after shooting 40.7 percent from the field, 32.2 percent from beyond the arch, and 67.7 percent from the charity stripe last year, along with recording 29 total rebounds, 52 assists, 38 steals and 298 points. Based off of last year’s statistics, fellow senior Tommy Skram, along with juniors Jonny Kading, Preston Kent and Blaize Dorsey are also names to watch when it comes to possible starters.

Kading, Skram and Kent were regulars to come off the bench last season, with Dorsey also a regular in the rotation. The Chargers will also need to make some adjustments to their play style this season, as they lost nearly all their height. This shouldn’t be a problem though, with Head Coach Lance Kading at the helm after collecting over 100 career wins during the previous season.
