Veterans Day has wrapped up, but Perry-area veterans will still be recognized tomorrow.
The Perry Piecemakers Quilt Guild will honor 10 veterans with Quilts of Valor during a presentation at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Perry Elks Lodge, 2823 Willis Ave.
Earlier this week, the Perry Piecemakers awarded a quilt to TJ Maylum for his service in the Marine Corps at Perry’s Veterans Day program.
Pat Mundy, with the Perry Piecemakers, says the group will award its first quilt to a general, and previously the highest rank to receive a quilt was a colonel.
Mundy adds that the public is welcome to attend the Quilts of Valor presentation at the Perry Elks Lodge. Refreshments will be available, along with nomination forms if anyone is interested in submitting a veteran to receive a quilt in the future.
