The AC/GC Chargers wrestling team is preparing for their second week of practice, and looking forward to the start of the season.

The team will be led by some important returners from last year, especially four who made it to the state tournament. The young man who made it the furthest was junior Ryder Cline, who spent two rounds in the championship side of the bracket, and then two in the consolation bracket. Seniors Angel Martinez, Carter Richter and Jack Sheeder all fell in their first round, then spent two rounds in the consolation bracket.

Head Coach Lane Rumelhart says that this experience will help the four be great leaders on the mat, and be valuable insight that they can share with the younger guys. He adds that there will also be a few guys that aren’t new faces to the team, but that weren’t able to compete last year due to injury, and will be on the mat this season. Charlie Christensen and Ty Ganzer will be on the mat once again and looking to get some matches under their belts.
