Adel-DeSoto-Minburn senior Elise Coghlan put pen to paper on Friday to mark her intention to continue her track and field career at the University of Northern Iowa.

Coghlan explains that UNI felt like home as soon as she stepped on campus and that she immediately meshed with the team and the coaching staff. She expresses excitement to begin a new role for the Panthers following graduation from ADM in the spring. However, Coghlan will always keep her Tiger family close.

“That team is really my family. I’ve always been close with them, it’s easy to joke around (or) be serious (and) literally anything with them, so it’s really nice.”

For ADM, Coghlan participates in the open 400 meter run, plus the 100, 400, and shuttle hurdle relays. She has won two state titles with the Tigers for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, and is looking forward to 2026. While attending UNI, Coghlan will be majoring in Business, although she is not sure about exactly which area of emphasis.
