On Thursday, the Perry Jayettes wrestling team had their first taste of competition action, traveling to CAM High School in Anita for the SWAT Quad. The Jeyettes fell short against Raccoon River Northwest and SWAT, but picked up a close fought 29-24 victory over Red Oak.

Joey Maylum and Amelie Canales both won their matches by fall within one minute. At 140, Maylum won by fall in 15 seconds scoring six points, while Canales won by fall in 32 seconds. Cate  Erickson also picked up a victory, winning by tech fall, 15-0 in 4:17 seconds.
