Season number three of high school bowling for the Greene County Rams started last night with a girl/boy doubleheader at the Adel Family Fun Center vs. the ADM Tigers. The Rams lost the boys’ match 3,009-2,930 and they fell by a 2,092-1,733 final in the girls’ match. Six bowlers from each school roll a two game series, then five Baker games are played. In Baker games, five players on each side bowl two frames to make a 1o frame game. The combined scores from the individual games and Baker games make up the final tally.

Coach John Woodford saw some good things from his bowlers. The score for the Rams in the boys’ match was the highest regular season score for a program starting its third season.  Only the 3,050 pins the 2025 Rams rolled in the Class 1A State Qualifying Meet was better than what the Rams rolled yesterday. Leading the Rams was junior Chase Fecher with games of 240 and 230 for a 470 series, which led all bowlers. Senior Teagan Chisholm shot 403, followed by senior Trenton Lee 379, junior Calvin Fields 374, sophomore Josh Dawson 372, and junior Jacob Rumley 369.

Sophomore Trinity Hull was fourth overall and first on the Greene County girls’ team with 278 pins for two games. Shelby Finley rolled 216 with a 203 series for Madison Christensen, 199 by Elizabeth Lizzy Long, 176 by Sara Stoffa, and 175 for Ella Hoffman.
