Photo belongs to the WCV Dance Team

The West Central Valley Dance Team put on great performances at the 2026 Iowa State Dance/Drill Team Association Championships on Thursday in Des Moines, including two soloists tallying the top two places.

Wildcats’ Addison Leonard was named the Class 4 Solo Champion, with teammate Scarlett Putney coming right behind in second place. With the win, Leonard has now won back to back solo titles. For the team performances, West Central Valley’s Contemporary captured third place, Pom was fourth, and Hip Hop marked fifth, and all three received Division-1 Ratings. Also, the Wildcats was honored with the Distinguished Academic Team Award.
