
Greene County had six wrestlers compete on Friday and Saturday at the Cliff Keen Independence Invitational. The 33 team even primarily had teams from Iowa, but South Dakota, Illinois, and Wisconsin were also represented. The Rams were 32nd among 33 teams.
All six Rams won at least one match, but junior Degan Miller was the lone top eight wrestler and he finished eighth after medically forfeiting the match for seventh place. Miller went 3-2 on the weekend. Junior Brennan Jacobs, the number one seed at 106 lbs., bounced back from a Friday loss to finish ninth by going 4-1 for the tourney and 3-0 on Saturday. Jaron Jacobs at 120 lbs. went 2-2 and he medically forfeited his last three scheduled matches and was 22nd. Junior Mason Haley a first year wrestler, placed 16th and was 2-4 for the tourney. Two freshmen wrestled for the Rams in Kole Johnson-Peterson at 113 lbs. and Kading Winters at 132. Johnson-Peterson won two matches and lost four and was 21st. Winters had a 4-3 record at Independence and was 19th.
