The Panorama Basketball Teams didn’t have enough fire power to take down Earlham on Tuesday, despite good offensive production from senior Morgan Crees.

Crees captured 20 points in the girls game, but the Panthers ultimately fell 56-31 to the Cardinals, while the boys were beaten 60-42.

In the girls match, Earlham scored 18 points in the first quarter to lead 18-6. The Cardinals only racked up nine points in the second, with Panorama tallying 11, and Earlham held a 27-17 advantage at half. The second half was the difference maker, as the Cardinals outscored the Panthers 29 to 14 to roll to a 56-31 win. Crees had 20 points, including four three-pointers, with freshman Ines Gimeno-Perez with 4 and sophomore Ashley Crees with 3 points.

The boys contest was tightly played in the first half, with Earlham leading 29-26 at halftime. The third quarter saw the Cardinals extend their advantage to six at 41-35. However, in the fourth quarter, Earlham outscored Panorama 19-7 to cruise to a 60-42 victory.

Both Panthers teams drop to 0-4 to begin the season, and will travel to Stuart tomorrow to face West Central Valley, beginning at 6pm.
