After taking a break in December, storytimes are returning to the Perry Public Library in the new year.

Youth Services Librarian Laura Pieper says three storytimes will run weekly from January through April and then September to November.

Budding Bookworms is held from 10:30-11:15 a.m. on Wednesdays for ages 2 to 5. Pieper details that the program includes books, singing, dancing and simple crafts.

Wee Wonders meets from 10:30-11:15 a.m. on Fridays. Pieper adds that the early literacy lapsit program is for babies from birth through 24 months. In addition to singing and incorporating motor skills, participants get a free board book each week.

Evening Family Storytime is held from 6:30-7:15 p.m. on Mondays in the Children’s Area. Pieper encourages families to attend as no registration is needed.

Though she adds that registration is required for the Budding Bookworms and Wee Wonders programs so that they can have enough supplies on hand. Those looking to register can visit the library’s website and click on the events calendar or call 515-465-3569.
