The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.

The Board heard construction updates about capital projects, including the Secondary Roads Administration Addition, the Dallas County Courthouse renovation project and the evidence storage and firing range for the sheriff’s office.

The Board awarded certificates of appreciation to Amy Short for her 15 years of service with the Public Health Department and Tiffany Mitchell for her five years of service with the conservation department.

The Board also recognized eight other individuals for years of service ranging from five to 15. Those honored for five years included Eric Breitsprecker in the Attorney’s Office, Emily Bouge with EMS Department, Jalen Wyld, James O’Halloran and Kelsie Klatt in the Sheriff’s Office and Cindy Oberembt in the Assessor’s Office. Those recognized for 10 years included Kenneth Buelt with the EMS Department and Steven Mague with Secondary Roads.

Items on the agenda that were approved included the 2026 ICAP insurance renewal and MidAmerican energy electric easements for the evidence storage and secondary roads administration buildings, following public hearings. 

The Board also held budget workshops for Emergency Management, Human Resources, IT/GIS, Board of Supervisors and Operations Administration/Facilities.  

The Board will hold additional budget workshops for Veterans Affairs, Planning & Development and Auditor today and for the Sheriff tomorrow.
