
The Greene County and Paton-Churdan High School Speech Teams did well at a recent competition.
According to Greene County Co-Speech Coach Kelley Gray there were four entries that received a Division I-Rating at this past Saturday’s Iowa High School Speech Association District Individual Events Contest. Senior Savannah Lansman received a I-Rating for her Prose and Expository Address. The other that also earned a I-Rating include Becca Anderson for Poetry and Leah McCormick for Prose.
Paton-Churdan Speech Coach Amanda Tasler says nine of their 14 entries earned a Division I-Rating and qualified for the state contest. Junior Ella Tasler received two Division I-Ratings for her Poetry and Literary Program. The other students that also earned a Division I-Rating include Alivya Smith and Blaise Schilling in Original Oratory, Phoenix Hartman and Lily Trecker for Prose, Maggie Reed and Anastasia Hobbs with Poetry, as well as Catarnia Hobbs and Kaliyah Minnihan for Literary Program.
According to IHSSA, the State Individual Events Contest will take place on March 14th. The full list of results from Saturday can be found below.
