The Greene County School Board met Wednesday night in regular session.

The Board approved ten fundraiser requests as presented and re-set the public hearing for the current fiscal year budget amendment to May 13th at 5:30pm. Superintendent Brett Abbotts mentioned that he didn’t get the amendment published within the regulated time frame for the hearing to be held last night.

Next, the Board approved the 2026-27 classified staff contracts with a $0.75 per hour wage increase, along with benefit increase, and Assistant Business Manager Shawn Allen received a $1.25 per hour increase. The Board also approved the 2026-27 administrative contracts, with ranges between $1,000-$3,000 salary increases. 

Additionally, the Board approved three summer projects of new carpet for portions of the elementary school, a Kubota plow and a mower for a total of $65,887. They also approved a trip request for the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) to attend the national conference in Washington, DC in July. Finally, the Board approved for next school year to increase the soccer varsity head coach and assistant coach units from six and four, respectively, to ten and seven to match up with similar length of season and schedule as volleyball.
