The Stuart Public Library has a very popular large item for patrons to take advantage of.

Library Director Lisa Sherman says that their sound booth has been used a lot since it was brought in. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio what all is part of the booth.

“It’s like a little mini office. So you have a desk and you have electric in there. Say your laptop needs to be plugged in. Well, we also have a USB port and another newer port. Well, it has a circulation system in it and really bright lights. So that works really great for people.”

Sherman mentions that another key feature is that it dampens sound, making it harder for people outside to hear what’s going on inside, and harder for people inside it to hear what’s happening outside. She adds that people have used it for digital meetings, taking tests, applying for jobs, making phone calls and much more.
