The Adel Rotary Club is hosting a new event on Saturday morning to help raise funds for its various community projects.
President Rylan Vos says the organization will host the Kuehn to Coon 5K starting at 9 a.m. Saturday at Kuehn Conservation, 32828 Houston Trail, Earlham.
He details the reason behind starting the event.
“So as the Adel Rotary president, I was looking for ways to raise money for our community projects around town. And me personally, I’m a runner and I wanted as president this year to do something that’s kind of close to my heart. Dallas County is blessed with a bunch of great county parks, such as Kuehn, and so it kind of just all fell together.”
Vos details that the cost to register is $45 and proceeds will benefit the club’s community projects, including a bike rodeo, a flower garden at the courthouse and more. He adds that Adel Rotary also supports the school and sponsors an Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Senior Student of the Month program.
Vos invites area residents of all skill levels to participate in Saturday’s 5K run or walk. Those interested can sign up online or in-person the day of the event. For more information, click here.
