A Perry man was recently arrested on multiple felonies for sex abuse of a minor.

According to court documents, the Perry Police Department investigated Edgar Corleto Mejia and it was discovered that he was allegedly in a relationship with a 14 year old, who Corleto claimed they were in love, and that he was the father of a newborn child. Court documents show that Corleto Mejia admitted to police that he knew the victim was a minor and he was at least four years older than the victim. 

The criminal complaint states that Corleto Mejia admitted to performing seven sex acts. He was arrested and charged with seven Class C Felonies for his first offense for third degree sexual abuse.
