The leader of the Panorama Boys Track and Field Team outlines the advantage of competing against a variety of schools in Iowa.
Panther Head Boys Track and Field Coach Bruce Dahlhauser shares that the sport is unique in the way of constantly racing against different schools throughout the season. He notes that there are certain teams that will attend several meets together, but there is also a guarantee to have a new school in the mix as well. Dahlhauser highlights seeing a new batch of schools throughout the season keeps competition fresh.
“It does get old and monotonous when run against the same kids every meet. So to add that little bit of variety to it was really good, and then you get the range of abilities. We’re seeing teams from other parts of the state (of Iowa) that they’re invested in what they do. And so to have the opportunity to run against that and really measure ourselves against it is really good.”
Panorama will see plenty of schools in Des Moines this Thursday through Saturday, as they will take a select number of athletes to the 116th Drake Relays.
