It is National Library Week and this year’s theme is “Find Your Joy.”

Director Misty VonBehren talks about how the theme applies to the Perry Public Library.

“Libraries are the heartbeat of a thriving community and at the library, we offer far more than just books. Whatever brings you joy, the library has something for everyone. We invite you to come in and explore all the things that we have to offer.”

She adds that those services include everything from free Wi-Fi to digital collections, printing and fax services, hands-on workshops, STEAM programs for children, senior social hours and more.

“Whether you’re launching a new business, raising a family, enjoying retirement, we provide the tools to help you succeed and thrive. Libraries serve as hubs for learning, creativity and connection, helping people of all ages explore new ideas and opportunities.”

VonBehren details that the Perry Library is helping patrons find their joy this week through a puzzle swap. Community members can bring in a puzzle and can take a new one home at a table set up in the library through Saturday. The Friends of the Perry Public Library will also be offering snacks throughout the week.
