On Monday, the Perry Bluejays soccer team traveled to Franklin Field in Marshalltown to face off against the Bobcats. Perry battled back, but fell to the Bobcats 3-1 falling to 4-3-1.
Both teams battled defensively in the first half, but the Bobcats struck first, taking a 2-0 lead going into halftime. Coming back from the break, Perry continued to battle, keeping the Bobcats from scoring until the Bluejays notched in a goal of their own. After being fouled in the box, Perry had Jacobo Cerna-Gomez take the penlaty kick, finding the top right bin to secure the goal. In the final moments, the Bobcats struck again, securing the 3-1 victory.
Now at 4-3-1, the Bluejays look to bounce back into the win column tonight, on the road to face off against the Central Iowa United Trojans. Heart of Iowa conference action is set to begin at 7pm.
