The Dallas County Hospital Foundation will host a new spring fundraiser to benefit women’s health next month.
Director of Marketing and Foundation at Dallas County Hospital Tom Harmsen says the Tea-Off for Women’s Health will be held on Friday, May 8 at the Dallas County Hospital Wellness Center.
“So it’s a chance for us, particularly ahead of Mother’s Day weekend, to really honor the women in our lives and to help position Dallas County Hospital as we look to replace equipment that is specialized to osteoporosis management and more. We are seeing increased rates of disease that are leading to requiring really the best equipment possible to provide the most effective care possible here in Perry.”
He adds that the May 8 event will include various layers, including cinnamon roll pick-up. Community members can order fresh or frozen rolls to be picked up that day.
Harmsen details that the second part of the event includes unveiling a women’s recognition wall. Those looking to honor the women in their lives can pay $10 and include a photo to be featured on a graphic that will be displayed across multiple walls at the hospital.
He explains that the final layer includes speakers discussing topics relevant to women’s health along with expanding on services offered at the hospital. Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase a table to decorate and prizes will be awarded. Tea samples will be provided along with a light lunch.
Harmsen encourages those interested in ordering cinnamon rolls or participating in the other events to sign up by Friday. For more information on how to register, click here or call 515-465-7516.
