The Greene County Board of Supervisors met on Monday in regular session.
During reports, County Engineer Wade Weiss talked about construction to repave County Roads E-26 and P-46 starting next Monday, starting with the pavement in the city of Dana on E-26. He said while construction is going on, there will be a detour in place.
County Environmental and Zoning Administrator Chuck Wenthold said Hardin Hilltop and Rippey Wind Farm inquired about re-powering the wind turbines in those locations. He noted that there currently is no zoning ordinance for that and so he is reviewing with the County Attorney’s Office before the Supervisors would need to act on an amendment, which may not require the Board of Adjustment to get involved. Finally, he reported that Alliant Energy would present to the Board about an upcoming solar panel project near Grand Junction.
The Board also approved the County Sheriff’s quarterly report of fees for January through March and the County Auditor’s quarterly passport report as presented. They also approved a resolution to hire Clayton Daisy as a part-time emergency medical technician for the Greene County Ambulance Department, and 25 disallowances for agriculture land credit as presented.
Finally, the Board reviewed the Iowa Communities Assurance Pool (ICAP) statement of values for insurance renewals. They did not act on the topic, but voiced some concerns that will be addressed at next week’s meeting with a representative.
