The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday morning.
The Board approved a resolution for the adoption and certification of taxes for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027, and to give 100 percent of the fiscal year 2026 appropriations to their respective departments. Normally, the Board would approve 50 percent of the appropriations, but this year they feel that the County is in a place of strong financial security, which makes them feel comfortable with giving the full amount of appropriations.
The Board also approved an abatement of taxes for a parcel of land that the City of Casey now owns after receiving the property, as well as quotes regarding fence, dirt work and tree removal at the county owned farm, and a fiscal year 2026 budget amendment for $125,000. Supervisor Maggie Armstrong and Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern then gave an updated timeline for the County Road P28/Wagon Road project, which can be found in this story online.
