
On Tuesday, the Perry Jayettes soccer team had their only game of the week on the road, facing off against the Central Iowa United Trojans in Heart of Iowa conference play. The Jayettes had a dominant showing, securing the 7-0 conference victory.
Central Iowa United battled defensively, but the Jayettes applied relentless pressure throughout the entire contest. Mariana Cerna struck first for Perry, scoring twice in the first half for the first two Jayettes goals. Yaneli Torres Gonzalez notched the third goal, with Addison Perks notching in the final goal of the first half for Perry, taking a 4-0 lead going into halftime. Coming back from the break, Perry continued to apply the pressure scoring three more goals. Perks struck again for the 5th goal of the night, followed by Kamila Arceo. Perks secured the hat trick, scoring the final goal of the night to defeat Central Iowa United 7-0.
Now at 3-2-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play, the Jayettes return to action next week, playing host to the Nevada Cubs on Monday. The match is set to begin at 7pm.
