Dallas Center-Grimes High had 12 events qualify for the blue standard and punch their ticket to downtown Des Moines for a chance to compete at the Drake Relays.

The boys lay claim to eight of those 12 spots, and Graham Ibeling kicks things off this afternoon with a long distance in the 3200m. He’ll also be competing in the 1600m a couple of days later. Friday morning sees Elijah Gaie in the long jump bright and early, then Darien Walker in the 110m hurdles not long after. About an hour afterwards, the boys hit the blue oval with their 1600m Sprint medley team. Saturday morning, the 4x100m shuttle hurdles take to the track.

The girls’ events start with the 4x100m relay team on Saturday morning, who will be followed by the 4x800m team, and Leighton Stanford in the 400m. The final Mustang scheduled to compete is Tenley Heidgerken in the 1500m.
