Former Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Track and Field athlete London Warmuth discusses how her high school coaches prepared her well to compete at the collegiate level.
Warmuth currently attends the University of Wisconsin, where she participates in the high jump event for the Badgers. She explains that the nice aspect about college is that you meet people from all over the world, compared to just individuals from around your home state. Warmuth shares that ADM’s coaches provided a good baseline for college.
“The importance that they instilled in us about strength and conditioning, focusing on getting better, and then just emotionally and mentally. I know Josh Chapman, my high school high jump coach, really helped me with that and just take a step back and honestly enjoy sports as it is. In this generation, we get hyper-fixated on how we perform, and it really takes away from the purpose of sports, which is having fun and just getting better and setting goals for yourself.”
During her ADM High School career, Warmuth won two state Track and Field championships. She is studying Animal Science on the Pre-Veterinarian track while at Wisconsin.
