Trevon Keely

Paton-Churdan junior Trevon Keely finished in seventh place among 26 competitors on Thursday at the Drake Relays high school boys’ high jump. The 2025 Class 1A State Champion was one of the few 1A athletes to qualify.

The bar was set at 6′ 2″ for an opening height, which he cleared on the first attempt. The bar went to 6′ 4″, which Keely also needed just one attempt to clear. He went out at 6′ 6″, missing all three attempts. Waukee’s Ajak Malual, a sophomore, won the competition by clearing the bar at 7′ 0″.

The only other event from a Greene County high school to qualify for Drake is the 4 x 100 meter relay the boys from Greene County will be running tomorrow morning at Drake Stadium. The prelims of the 4 x 100 are set for 10:12 a.m.
