Greene County FFA’ers recently attended the State Convention.
Advisor Steve Kehoe said ten members went to Ames on the campus of Iowa State University this past week, where they were joined by 6,700 members and guests. During the event, Kehoe stated that the students heard from the keynote speaker, Kevin Wanzer, who is a nationally recognized individual as an effective and entertaining presenter that inspires and empowers audiences. Kehoe noted that Wanzer helps people to enhance their soft skills, reconnect with their hidden passions, while also embracing diversity and celebrating community through laughter.
Additionally, Kehoe mentioned that their Agriculture Sales Team earned a silver rating and those students included Eli Glawe, Rylan Hostetler, Dakota Ostrander and Austyn Smith. He said other chapter members served as delegates including Sam Fitzpatrick, Eli Schroder, Kai Byerly and Breanna Pope. He pointed out that Courtesy Corp workers were Madesyn Carstens and Cheyenne Kiley.
Kehoe detailed one of the big highlights was Smith receiving the Iowa Degree, which only five percent of FFA’ers achieve. He added that Smith was one of 830 FFA members in the state to earn the state degree.
