The 10 Squared Men of Guthrie County recently made their first donation of 2026.

The philanthropic group awarded the donation to the Guthrie County Swim Club, who had their needs presented by Swim Club Board President Jacob Kent. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio what it means to be able to receive a donation like this.

“It’s going to be an absolute blessing. We’re so thankful to have this group giving money to groups in need throughout our county. And it’s super helpful as there was probably no way we would be able to do these things just normally. I don’t think there’s enough bake sales you could do to get that kind of money in one shot. And we just think 10 Squared is really cool to be able to do this three times a year to the different groups in Guthrie County. It’s really nice to get a nice shot in the arm, one time shot. And it’s worked great for a lot of different groups.”

Kent mentions that they already have some things lined up for once they receive the funds, including a scoreboard for keeping track of scoring at home swim meets, along with a tent to shade computers at home meets and give a shaded gathering place for team members to rest and gather at away meets. He adds that they are also looking at a dedicated space for storing equipment and items used by the team, as right now they’ve grown large enough that the current shared space with the lifeguards at the Guthrie Center Aquatic Center is becoming too small, and some things are being stored at members’ homes as well.
