The Greene County Historical Society has a couple of programs coming up.
The first event is tomorrow, as part of the organization’s monthly programs. Program Director Margaret Hamilton says at 12:45pm, a variety of items from the Greene County Museum will be on display at the St. Columkill’s Catholic Church in Churdan. She shares that the items are some of the oddest possessions that the museum has and attendees are encouraged to guess that they are and what they were used for.
Hamilton notes that tomorrow’s program will be kind of like a game and prizes will also be awarded.
The Historical Society says the next program is on Sunday and that will be about Iowa’s over 150 years of food lineage. Organizers say Lake City author Darcy Maulsby will be at the museum at 2pm to share some cooking tips, along with ethnic food traditions and other interesting food-related information from all across Iowa. Sunday’s program is free and open to the public.
