Coach Kyle Kinne’s Greene County Rams finished second in a high school boys’ golf Heart of Iowa Activities Conference quadrangular on Thursday in Des Moines at Woodland Hills Golf Course by Saydel (Des Moines). Three of the four teams were separated by just three strokes with South Hamilton (Jewell) shooting 152 for nine holes. The Rams were just two back at 154 and Roland-Story (Story City) was next at 155, followed by Saydel at 172.
Greene County senior Nathan Towers was third at 36 with sophomore Keaton Hinote with 37. Sophomore Louis Schneider was next at 40 with a 41 by senior Carter Hinote. Medalist was Ryan Fisher from R-S at 34, followed by 35 from South Hamilton’s Michael Carlson.
The coach of the Rams told Raccoon Valley Radio that conditions were cold, wet, and windy. “We had a great team score, but the players weren’t happy with how they played. It’s amazing how high their expectations are.”
