District 12 Senator Amy Sinclair

A bill in legislation in Iowa took an unusual turn this session.

Senator for District 12 Amy Sinclair says that last week House File 2200, which pertains to prohibited activities in the administration of alcoholic beverage control by the Department of Revenue, went through a process that hasn’t been done in quite some time. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the bill went to the Conference Committee, and why it did so.

“The House and Senate did not agree on an amendment that was added to it. And so we’ve come to a place where we’ve gone to the Conference Committee process, which hopefully means that we’ll move something forward. We should move something forward. But just coming to a decision on whether that looks like the House version of that bill or the Senate version of that bill.”

Sinclair mentions that the House version of the bill was chosen by the Committee. The bill was later passed 43-4 in the Senate.
