It’s National Small Business Week and a Perry gallery was recently recognized with an award.

Betsy Peterson Designs received the Spirit of Perry Business of the Year Award in the small business category during the Perry Chamber’s Annual Dinner on April 7. New this year, three categories – nonprofit, small business and large business – were recognized. 

Betsy Peterson Designs was nominated because “her gallery offers one of a kind, handcrafted artwork that reflects creativity, meaning, and heart, while creating a space where everyone who walks through the door feels welcomed, valued, and connected.”

The nomination letter added that “Betsy pours her personal experiences and passion into every piece, and her soft spoken, genuine nature makes people fall in love not only with her work but also with the sense of community she helps build in Perry.”

Raccoon Valley Bank and The Nudgers were also recognized in the large business and nonprofit categories for the Spirit of Perry Business of the Year Award.
