Coach Wes Anderson’s Greene County high school girls’ soccer teams played twice on Saturday in the Creston Panthers Invitational. The Rams opened the day vs. Creston and lost 1-0 on a first half goal. It was the first time this season the Rams allowed just one goal in a match and it was also the first one goal loss for the Rams. The consolation game was not close as Riverside (Oakland) won 10-0 by the 10 goal rule.

The Rams are 0-12 on the season and have scored just one goal in 2026. Coach Anderson told Raccoon Valley Radio that Autumn Barrett and Nala Losee each had two shots on goal with one each from London Harris and Amy Medrano. The six shots on goal was a s season high for the Rams. Goalkeeper Lucy Vander Linden was credited with 10 saves. “Awesome defensive effort all match. We just let one squeak past us on a quick defensive transition.”

On the loss to Riverside, Coach Anderson said, “We still had a few chances, but the girls were just dog-tired all match and were not able to transition quickly from attack to defense.” Vander Linden recorded 12 saves and Taylor Ross had one save. Barrett had the Rams’ lone shot on goal. Anderson added Losee and Barrett were working really well on counter attacks all day, and Vander Linden came through big in the match vs. Creston to keep the Rams close.
