Adel-DeSoto-Minburn senior Trey Bryte recently decided that he is attending Morningside University in Sioux City to continue his basketball career.
The Tigers came just one win short of notching the school’s first basketball state championship, as they fell 43-39 to Ballard in the Iowa High School Athletic Association Class 3A section on March 13th. Despite that, Bryte made an incredible impact for ADM, being the All-Time Leader in assists with 376 and steals at 129, then second in rebounds with 454, and eighth in total points at 760. Tiger Head Coach Trevor Mickelson calls Bryte the ultimate teammate.
“He rebounds well, he defends, and with his vision, as soon as he gets a rebound, he is instantly in attack mode. (He’s) just such a great playmaker (and) so selfless. There’s very few kids that take as much pride in creating a shot for a teammate as Trey does, and so he is so vital to everything that we do. And we’re lucky to have him and we’re excited to continue to watch his success.”
ADM concluded the 2025-26 season with a 24-3 overall record, and marked second inside the Raccoon River Conference at 14-2. Trey will join his older brother Adam in northwest Iowa, as Adam just wrapped up his sophomore year at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake.
