The West Central Valley Girls and Boys Soccer Teams hosted Kuemper Catholic in Stuart on Monday, as the Wildcat Boys earned their 11th victory, while the girls dropped their fourth game of the season.

For the boys, West Central Valley continued their hot start as they racked up three goals in the first half to hold a 3-0 advantage. The Wildcats wouldn’t let their foot off the gas pedal, notching four more goals to roll to a comfortable 7-0 win. Through 12 games, West Central Valley has only given up six goals, while scoring 63 total goals this season, including seven shutout victories.

Wildcat senior Trajan Rummel had two goals, then senior Aiden Brandon, senior Gabe Gerling, senior Kason Bender, junior Garret Wolfe, and sophomore Luis Huerta all tallied one goal apiece.

The win sees West Central Valley climb to 11-1-1, and Kuemper Catholic falls to 7-6-1.

On the girls side, the Knights played excellent defense on the Wildcats, preventing them from being in their zone. Kuemper Catholic stayed in attack mode, resulting in five first half goals on their way to a 5-0 lead at the break. The Knights would add two more goals in the second half to post a 7-0 shutout win.

West Central Valley now drops to 8-4-1 and have lost four of their past five contests, as Kuemper Catholic improves to 10-2-1 on the year.

The Knights will hit the road to Atlantic tonight, as the Wildcats will be off until Friday, when they’ll travel to State Center to take on Central Iowa United.
