
Several athletes from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn and Perry High Schools will compete at the state track and field meet this week.
After winning the Class 3A State Qualifying Meet site in Glenwood this past Thursday, the ADM girls and boys teams will be taking a number of entries to state.
On the girls side, those include Isabelle Book in the 200-meter dash, Livia Morse in the 400-meter dash, Elise Coghlan in the 100 and 400-meter hurdles, Haley Nelson in the 100-meter hurdles, along with Lauren Hagedorn in the discus and shot put.
The ADM girls also qualified a number of relays, including the 4×100 Meter Shuttle Hurdle, the 4×100, the 4×200, the 4×400, the 4×800, the 800 Sprint Medley and the Distance Medley.
On the boys side, the Tigers will have Zane Johnson in the 100 and 200-meter dash, Parker Hook in the 400-meter dash, Ty Landphair and sophomore Jack Leistikow in the 800-meter run, Reid Kluesner in the high jump and Nick Subbert in the discus.
ADM boys will have several relay teams including the 4×100, 4×200, the 4×800, the Distance Medley, the 4×110 Meter Shuttle Hurdles and the 800 Sprint Medley.
Perry will also be well-represented as the girls are sending four athletes to state. Treasure Moore qualified in the 100 and 200-meter dash, while Lily Myers will be competing in the 400-meter dash and 400-meter hurdles. The Jayettes also qualified in the 800 sprint medley.
Perry’s Rylan Modlin, Bryan Chavez, Xavier Leake, and Michael Bahtagic will represent the Bluejays at Drake Stadium for the 2026 boys state track meet next week. Nadir Ouahbi, Connor Kautzky and Brody Booth could also be used on the 4x200m team for the Bluejays.
The Iowa High School Track and Field State Meet will be held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines Thursday through Saturday.
