Members of the Perry Chamber Board officially invited Perry Schools staff, administration and students to the resurrection of the homecoming parade yesterday.
A large invitation to the Wednesday, September 28th event was extended in front of the high school Friday morning.
The Chamber Board has been split up into teams for each class at the high school. They’re working together with the Bluejay Congress to obtain sp onsorships, brainstorm ideas and set up logistics for the float building process.
The goal is to bridge the gap between businesses, the community and the schools and show Perry Pride.
Student leaders say they’re excited about having the homecoming parade back as the last time the school had one they were in elementary or middle school.
Student Council Advisor Brenda Mintun says the theme for this year’s homecoming festivities is “Going Greek”.
The parade takes off from the high school and continues to downtown Perry starting at 6pm.
If you’d like to take part or sponsor a float, contact the Chamber at 465-4601.
