September is National Preparedness Month.

Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Coordinator Bob Kempf says now is the perfect time to build an emergency kit to keep in your car for the upcoming winter, and beyond. “That’s a really seasonal thing, with blankets and maybe a shovel, and things like that. You could also put a small kit together there, the same way, with things like a good first-aid kit, some matches, plastic bags, and other things of that nature. Depending on where you’re going and what you’re doing, would depend on what you want in your kit.”
