The Churdan Public Library invites the public to two Easter egg hunts this week.
Tomorrow morning at 9:30am, preschool and younger children will participate in one Easter egg hunt throughout the library as part of their regular storytime.
Then on Saturday at 9:30am, weather permitting, one-year-olds through 5th graders are invited to the second Easter egg hunt which will take place at the Churdan City Park. If there’s inclement weather, then it will be held inside the library.
Library Director Shari Minnehan talks about what the kids will get at this annual event.
“They start by decorating their baskets. They find eggs filled with candy and other wrapped candy. And then in the community room they’ll get a toy and usually they get a book. So there’s some other stations where they get to pick up other things that they don’t necessarily hunt for but they get to add to their basket.”
Minnehan adds that 40-60 people usually come to these events including out of town kids visiting for the holiday.
