The postseason trail begins tomorrow afternoon for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers wrestling team. One of the wrestlers familiar with the road to Wells Fargo Arena is junior Nolan Harsh, who qualified for the Class 2A State Wrestling tournament his first two high school seasons.
Harsh is the subject of tonight’s ADM Student Spotlight and shared with the Raccoon Radio Network during preseason practice what it’s like competing at Wells Fargo Arena. “I wrestled (at Wells Fargo Arena) during middle school for AAU state but stepping on (the mat) for high school is so much of a different experience; it gives you goosebumps,” Harsh said, “As a sophomore last year, I was able to control (the goosebumps) a lot more but it’s still cool stepping on (the mat at Wells Fargo) every time.”

Harsh and classmate Andrew Flora represented ADM at last year’s Class 2A Individual State Wrestling tournament. Flora finished his season on the podium, taking fourth place overall at 106 pounds. Harsh fell one win short of a medal, dropping out on the tournament’s second day. The ADM wrestling team starts their next run to Wells Fargo Arena tomorrow afternoon in the Class 2A Section 7 tournament at Winterset High School. The Tigers will grapple wrestlers from Clarke (Osceola), Creston-OM, Greene County, Winterset, and Woodward-Granger. The top two wrestlers from each weight class advance to next week’s Class 2A District 4 tournament at Harlan High School.
