Everyone is invited to a free program next week, hosted by the Jefferson Public Library.
Attendees will learn about a Winterset man who was one of the original Monument Men from World War II. A presentation on George Stout will be delivered by Nancy Trask who founded the George Stout Fellowship for Art in the Public Sphere. She has her Masters of Library Science degree from the University of Oklahoma. She will talk about Stout who was a member of the US Army Monument, Fine Arts, and Archives program. They were charged with recovering art and other items of cultural importance that were stolen by the Nazis.
The free program takes place at 2pm on Tuesday, May 8th at the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson. The program is made possible by a Jefferson Rotary grant.
