Greene County Supervisors 7_2The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

The Board approved a 2.25-mile asphalt resurfacing project on County Road E-18 by the bridge. The lone bid was submitted by Fort Dodge Asphalt for $1.2 million, which was higher than the $900,000 estimate. The late start date is August 6th and County Engineer Wade Weiss said they are trying to coordinate the road to be done with the bridge replacement project, which won’t start until August 1st. Weiss is seeking payment to come from the tax increment financing funds from the wind turbines. Weiss also pointed out to the Supervisors that he is intending to purchase a wheel loader for over $158,000 in the 2020 fiscal year budget.

The Board also set July 16th at 9am as the public hearing date to dispose of three county properties of 104 Main Street West in Grand Junction, as well as 1207 Main Street and a property on Stanton Street in Scranton. The Board also approved the June 29th cash count. Additionally, the Board heard an update from Greene County Public Health Director Becky Wolf.
